Extremely delicious mutton soup specialist

A big signboard just below the main one proudly proclaims themselves to be mutton soup specialists. Indeed. Mutton soup is usually available around 10am, waiting for the meat to become tender. Even at 10, not all types of meat are ready. They have meat from the ribs, leg, tongue, brain.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I was “forced” to have the ribs instead of regular meat, as meat was not ready, won’t be tender enough yet.

I think we can trust such professionalism, and thank you so much, the ribs were simply marvellous, I daydreamed about eating it again while gathering thoughts for writing this. Fall off the bone fresh and tenderer than Ziggy’s bum. I know where to go for a perk me up (err... no, not dog bum sniffing...).

If the mutton was good, the soup was better… excessively tasty and full of spices that gave my taste buds more excitement than opioid (from what people tell me about it…). The spice mix was strong and rich, so aromatic I would describe it as a curry like soup without the curry….

It was so good that every time I had a piece of mutton, I was motivated to down it with a spoonful of soup, or two. Nothing can stop me from going at it spoonful after spoonful… it is indeed stronger than opioid!

Excellent soup with very tender mutton

There seems to be a negative association of this place with my subconscious. First time I was here, one of my jiak kakis had a bicycle flat and asked for help, we then had very early dinner at this reputable mutton soup stall.

I didn’t like it from the start, for no reason whatsoever. This time, it felt the same. In fact, as I started slurping the soup, I had all the excuses in my head.

Thankfully, halfway through, the id overcame the ego… at least I became more objective. Probably because I realise the excuses I had for this was just that, excuses.

The soup itself, it was pretty much similar to the masses, that is the thing about mutton soup, I am never able to tell any difference! The mutton with the soup, however, was excellent. Plenty of soft tender mutton, it was a joy having this mutton soup.

Thankful for this soup to turn my day around from being a grouchy old man to a smiley face….😊😊😇

Mutton soup that tastes exceptional, nice pratas and fantastic briyani

This place was recommended to me some 15 years ago for their briyani. Came for it and I have been impressed. Then someone else told me about their mutton soup, again impressed.

Let’s talk about their pratas to begin with. First time here, my company wanted prata so I went along. It was pretty decent, freshly made no matter what you order, instead of the usual ready made if you decide on the more common plain or egg. They were good pratas, made fresh, nothing exceptional but fresh, this alone moved them up the ranks!

The mutton soup here, which they start serving only after 11am, was something else. Full of fragrance from an abundance of freshly fried shallots, I found it difficult to stop scooping for more. There was a good amount of mutton too, some were suitably tender while some were slightly more “chewy”, maybe it was close to midnight when I had it, it wasn’t the freshest. However, the wonderful soup made up for everything. Definitely an extremely tasty one here! I’d say it’s a must try!

Likewise the briyani, well done and fragrant rice, coupled with tasty curry chicken or mutton. The briyani here would be the standard to achieve for a good one.

The curry chicken and mutton here were so good, I would always order one to go with pratas too.

This is quite a laid back joint, payment only after you finish your food and are ready to leave. It has a good crowd at all hours but never too crowded. Nice place!
